Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 September 2026

Kitty & Yarn is a small, independent crochet blog. We collect as little information as possible, and this page explains exactly what that is in plain language.

What we collect

If you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message text you type. We also collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. We do not collect payment details, because nothing is sold on this site.

Why we collect it

Contact details are used only to reply to you. Usage statistics help us decide which guides to write next; for example, if the beginner's guide is read three times as often as anything else, we expand it.

Cookies

The site uses essential cookies needed to load pages correctly and, where analytics are enabled, a single anonymous measurement cookie. We do not run advertising cookies or sell data to third parties.

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for up to twelve months so we can follow up on ongoing questions, then deleted. Aggregated analytics are retained for up to twenty-six months and cannot be traced back to an individual.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Data is only processed by the hosting and email providers required to run the site, each bound by their own data protection terms.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion. Write to hello@kittyandyarn.example and we will action it within thirty days.

Children

This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated date below will change and a short note will appear on the home page for thirty days.
